It's almost that time of the month again, and I say that from the absolute safety of menopause. Love is in the air, and it smells almost as strange as vanilla toilet spray.
This month's LoonRhasH is almost upon us, and so is Valentines Day. To that end, Fool Loon Hare Black Tracka will be setting a loving spoonful of trail from Otto's Grotto in Ulverstone this Wednesday February 8th, 7pm. Lunar Hash / LH3 COMBO RUN

Hare : One Hump

Inlet showing us Safe Planking Procedures (SPP) as approved by the PRC (Planking Regulation Committee). The site was approved and licenced by LH3's SSPA (Site Save Planking Advisor) OneHump.

The trail began near “The Pub With No Counter Meals” and was led by Fingers and Bend Over who were at this stage, still on speaking terms [But more of that later]. This particular trail
had in actual fact been set from a car and thus led around the block. One Hump had used massive flour arrows - just in case “God Forbid” - Dini should miss one. When the arrows reached the park One Hump couldn’t drive across it, so he had to drive around to the other side and re-start the trail. This act inserted the one and only brief moment of excitement on the whole run. Hashers were able to call “Are you on?” and Hashers who crossed the 20 yard park were able to call “On On”! Great stuff. The On Home was found down on the corner— So, no Checks, no False Trails, no nothing - and it took all of 10 minutes.! Ringo was heard muttering to Tracka “I told you One Hump would set a shit run!” Incomming Hashers were greeted by a warm fire, chairs, lighting and plenty of beer, so One Hump at least got that right I decided to return via the pub to photograph the usual Sludge Arses sitting in there, but it was closed! They could have sold at least 20 counter meals and an equal amount of booze!

Next Lunar Hash will be set by Hare Puss in Boots from Foot Street in Hadspen on Thursday 16 June 2011AD.

Devoted Loons should gather under the full moon at Carrick on Tuesday May 17th at 6.30 for 7pm stroll and pub meal, and of course medicinal tonic. Weather permitting, the Launny trailer and firepot will be in attendance nearby in case of thirst aid emergencies.

The symbol of the Hare gazing at the moon indicates fertility, longevity and rebirth, so all due precautions should be carried, otherwise they may not let us into the pub.

Tracka set a fabulous stumble at Fern Glade in Burnie to celebrate the full moon. We were fortunate enough to eventually score some food from a Burnie establishment that was initially reluctant to feed us - a recurring theme in Burnie. This time we were lucky to actually be told before ordering and we patiently waited without a single complaint. We left with ample food in our bellies, even Bastard whose mains were of course the very last to be served!

Next full moon is a combined Devonport run, with Yep at the helm from his abode: 1 Mission Hill, Penguin. See you around 630pm on 18 April 2011.

A brave assortment of Hashers descended upon the Forth pub for our Full Moon occasion. As per usual we wined and dined till dark, and Flasher ran his lousy rigged raffle (even incorporating strangers such as Triple Top & fam. and motley mates of Cheese and Thrust). Just when our moment of truth, the baring of bottoms (aka mooning the moon) was about to happen, the band started playing (Waltzing Matilda?) and we were glued to our seats. Maybe we just felt bad to vacate the biggest table in the little pub and walk out on the band after they introduced themselves, but whatever pathetic reason we may have had we have a lot to catch up on for next Full Moon - 20th March hosted by Burnie Hash.

Lunar Hashers at Furners

Full Moon Loonies showed up in arms at the Furners Hotel in Ulverstone. After a casual 12km stroll around Ulverstone we descended with fury and vengeance into the hotel. Even the off-duty hotel manager had to query us on the use of the potty with ice on the table.

After making a good mess of both ourselves and the venue the foolhardy true blue loonies proceded to Flasher's abode to perform the monthly ritual from his deck. White flesh was bared in honour of and in the direction of the moon.

Fully sated for yet another month of waning and waxing we will gather again at some venue yet to be disclosed at a later time just before Nash Hash weekend!!

Two Moons are twice the fun

Even though we are all Looning off to Oatlands to be Masterbakers on Jan 22nd, the Full Moon we love to crave is actually two days earlier.
Devoted Loonies may gather at a public house (Furners) in Ulverstone at 7pm on Thursday January 20th to join with Hare Lip Flasher for stroll, sips and sustenance before baring their buns under the silvery glow of the January moon.
According to written club lore (the ink is still drying), attendance at this moonwa*k or at Oatlands will count as a LoonRhasH r*n.

The Seventeenth at the Forth

A nice little pack of Loons graced the Forth Pub for LoonRhasH's 17th Moonwalk on Saturday. The pink ribbon theme crept into the raffle and many memorable prizes were given out, given back, eaten or drunk.
Incidental entertainment was supplied by a birthday booze-busload of girls who had never before seen a man in an apron with a sheep on it. The loaded bus, ready for departure, was the beneficiary of this month's mooning. Then it was off for a short stroll to sample the unrivalled hospitality of Killer and LB at the Grange.

Hopefully this was the last cold and wet lunar hash for the year, may the moon shine bright on a steamy warm earth (and bums) next time!

We all assembled at the designated spot and feared for Flasher's epic run in the rain. As we set off down the street the Launy bus arrived, nice and clean having driven through extreme downpours. White faces piled out and joined us... for a 100 meter walk to the Lucas Hotel where we stuffed ourselves prior to stumbling back with loot and a seasoned Dini.

The monumental release of the official Lunar Hash Song, composed by Dint, was sung to the tune of God Save the Queen:

Picture this.... Shearwater Country Club in NW Tasmania on a clear full moon evening ... crystal clear Moon; just what the Doctor ordered... Hashers expected any minute....the Hare is calmly drinking a guinness and smoking a cigarette when panic sets in...Oh bother!!... many Hashers have headed to Brunei for the good of their livers... who will turn up to "Moon the Moon??".. No problem! we'll import some!!... at great expense we imported two Fabulous members into the Back Door of the Country Club! Hobart ..we found one from there...the hare breathed a sigh of relief...we had a quorum! so with the dedicated few who didn't need to de-tox their livers in Brunei we had more than the Full Moon crew in Hobart... Grand Loon Black Tracka took control and led the gallant band into darkest Shearwater... Bastard trying in vain to usurp his authority but we weren't fooled ... we know about him!! A stroll round the lanes with a dash across the deserted golf course and back to the Country Club for food. Two pseudo Hashers Cindy and Emily left us here ... it was past Emilys bedtime! (she is only 4) The rest of us ate and drank. Tracka ran the best raffle ever! It was a quiz!! (Memories of the McBollocks triumph with the quiz at the Highland Fling!!).. only one prize won fairly and sqarely by A Bit of This and taken away to be drunk at Burnie Hash on the morrow!! When we went out to "Moon the Moon" a strange thing had happened! there was a big blob covering the lower half of the Moon.... suggestions were rife but the balance of opinion was it was Grizzlys rear waiting for a drink in Brunei!!

May's Moon at the OzRock Inn

On the eve of the NW Full Moon we assembled at Crow's establishment. Scaring off the people gathering for an actual function we postponed our departure as long as possible so we could peek at the well dressed dames wondering in.

The imaginary trail took us straight to the pub, but before we got there we got slighly distracted...

The chalk soon wore out and we entered the pub where we kept the barmaid running.

The by now hungry NW Lunar Hash pack quickly marched back to the OzRock Inn 'Annexe' Room. As the revellers next door had their respectable dinner celebrations we got stuck into some nice appetisers:

The grub and grog, service and all left nothing to be desired. Crow and 1080 were the perfect hosts, and how they managed to keep up with two functions was beyond most of us...

Moons Rise at Batman Bridge

LoonRHash Moonwalk 10. A joint r*n with LH3. @ the Batman Bridge somewhere near Launceston!.

A few hardy Hashers were on time but many arrived well after the appointed start time! Some had chased the speed of light in their efforts to get from Hawley Beach to the Bridge in under three parts of an hour! Tiles who lives much nearer was even later! Eventually our 'hare' BallPoint sent us on our way with few instructions apart from the fact that trail was set on flour. We headed into the bushes under the bridge then back up a grassy bank onto the Bridge itself; those who suffer from vertigo raced with their eyes shut over to the firm ground on the far side... the rest ooohed and aaahed at the scenery either side of us. Another good loop of scrub and tracks brought us in the gathering gloom to a steep bushy hillside which led us back to re-cross the Bridge and 'on home'. Although it was a balmy evening Mr E soon had a good fire going for us. Tiles punished any hasher who dared breathe in the 'circle'; we ate, we drank, we chatted, we mooned the Moon, we all went home!! Excellent territory, superb evening, wonderful setting with the Full Moon lighting the Bridge behind us. Thank you BallPoint and the LH3 Hashers who made us 'visitors' so welcome. The next LoonRhash will be on 28th April set by that "Great Loon"himself - Black Trakka from the Sheffield Pub.

March 30th marks another Full Moon in the North West of Tasmania, no matter where the moon might be full elsewhere.

LH3 will host the 10th LoonRHash at the Batman Bridge across the Tamar River. Meet at campsite carpark (eastern end of bridge) at 6.30pm for 6.45pm start and bring the following:

Hash Cash $15 for piss-heads, $10 for designated drivers, $5 non-drinkers

The House of Thrust was a good bet for a successful Hash night. GoneAgain set an ACE run, even though he says so himself, and Thruster cooked a fabulous meal. We all mooned the moon after dinner, right from Turners Beach Road. Mooning the moon from both directions to make doubly sure it was mooned gave Thrust enough time to collect any randomly placed stubbies, causing concern for many Hashers who feared their favourite stubby cooler had become lost property...

Next NorthWest Lunar Hash is scheduled for 30 March and will be hosted by Launy Hash, we will keep you posted!

LoonRhasH billed for March 1st

Yes LoonRhasH needs to be billed as March 1st as the actual full moon interferes with the Charitable Red Dress Weekend in Hobart. LoonRHasH is not keen to compete with charity as we are far from charitable until we can afford our own T-shirts at least. Much as it goes against the grain to agree with common senses (and bastards like Bastard), we do need to make sure that we moon the moon and so we, and may I humbly add successfully, lobbied the Lord in Charge of our Heavens to postpone the full moon just this once.

BallPoint made sure we all got our edumucation by setting trail past statues and gardens in Deloraine before descending us upon the Old British Hotel for tea. Santas were in abundance, and presents were had for all. Smeg squirted beer, Flasher's rigged raffle included everything from ice-cube trays to the TV in the pub's dining room, stopping just short of raffling off the till. We flashed the moon, but not before Smeg and Flasher tried to catch an off-guard duck. The ducks flew over the cuckoos nest narrowly escaping the loonies, as the moon hid behind the clouds escaping from our bright white arses.

31/12/2009 Marks a Humpy New Year and the Blue Loon is set by Burnie from SpeedHump's place, details TBA but it includes the Burnie Foreshore fireworks, which will light up our white flash.

LoonR at Deloraine

Wednesday December 2nd, meet at the Deloraine Community Centre car Park - on the Launceston side of the bridge - at 7 pm. This moon's Hare Lip is Ballpoint, freshly returned from the depths of the Myanmar jungles and laden with fascinating tropical ailments. Should be ideal to clear us a space in a local Pub.
This is the LoonR Christmas function, so dress accordingly, on a night when too much Holly on you Deck is barely enough, and the HoHo's are everywhere.

Full Moon Success

With abated breath we watched the moon rise to complete yet another successful lunar cycle. We were ready for the stellar event as we had completed Smeg's (respective) walk/run around the town of Carrick - unassisted and unaided, swallowed a decent pub meal and lubricated ourselves in the appropriate fashion for such religious moment. As the moon rose we politely showed our white buttocks to it, in accordance with the secret Lunar Hash code.

This run was more than just roses and sunshine, and more pictures are to follow.

LoonRhasH the Third

In line with this week’s host club LoonRhasH—which is already steeped in tradition after only three moon-wa*ks—the bow-tie wearing pack assembled under the light (Ch–ch-ch Cha) of the silvery moon by the Penguin skate park in readiness for the gruelling LoonR trail (i.e. short stroll to the pub). A shady-looking character with a duck-arsed dog handed out cups of contraband moonshine (cardboard port) from the doorway of her motorhome, all the while playing bag-pipe music. Why would anyone think we were weird?

Dinner and a show ensued at the salubrious Neptune Hotel. The show was Flasher doing the raffle—perhaps we should start charging the general public to watch. Every child won a prize, and some wished they hadn’t. The Booby prize was hotly contested - next month’s S & M Wooden Spoon should be even more popular.

Circle followed, with Harelip Bastard allocating the many spurious downs to the thirsty pack. Fool Loon Black Tracka accepted a mask of the Biggest Loon in History (Prince Charles) from Panta-Loons Knickers and Ballpoint. Essential modifications are in process to allow consumption of beverages through the mask .After mooning the moon it was off to the house of the Bastard for warming nightcaps. On On Dini

Grizzly Update

The seasonally adjusted rising of the September full moon (Saturday 5 September) which appears one day later than it does down south, for some odd reason - will be celebrated by a bunch of Loonies, led by Hare-y mooner B.A. Stard, starting at 7:00pm from the Penguin boat ramp this Saturday.

With LoonR Hash, Devonport Hash and Global Harriettes all within days of each other, sage JMs Rosemary and Basil have decreed that the LoonR run will also be this week's official Burnie H3 r*n. That should swell the numbers in Penguin!

Lunar Hash Run II

Second Consecutive run!

The second NW Lunar Hash was run last Thursday, set by Flasher. We all gathered under the storm clouds awaiting a torrential downpour. As soon as GoneAgain had finally ComeAgain with Mullet the pack scurried off in the direction of the Formby hotel for beer and tucker. Good to see a good Burnie/Launy attendance, we are the NW Lunar Hash after all. Ballpoint and CremeBroule showed up with their new bub who was immediately christened half-moon or something frivolous.

When we were all tanked we decided to brainstorm the NW Hash and decided that if a Full Moon coincided with a NW Hash Run we would have it there. That means Sundays in Burnie, Mondays in Devonport, and Tuesadays and Thursdays in Launceston.

As soon as we ready to be kicked out we proceeded down Stewart Steet, stopping at Dint's office where his colleagues immediately called the cops. Cops were obviously too intimidated by us as they didn't show up till we had cleared the premises.

Mullet danced with PhayWray's umbrella and the rest of the pack shuffled their way back to the cars in a relatively orderly but loud fashion. The circle was held in the rain, and lacking a moon we mooned a passing car and a dark house.

The next Lunar run will be on Thursday August 6th at 7.00pm . Starting from the War Memorial car park on Victoria Parade Devonport. You must wear something that is “howling or Growling“. Bring money for dinner at a local eatery, money for the wrigged raffle and money if you want a poke – at the local pokeries .

The first, well attended, lunar hash went off with a flash to the full moon. We feasted at RA cafe, announced the new mismanagement team and went for a Rock around the Clock before returning to Otto's Grotto where the first circle was held by the Fool Loon Mr. Tracka the Hare-Lip. The wigged waffle was held and was well rigged by Flasher.

BallPoint was seen scheming with Speedy and Dini to create a suitable mismangement team, Thrust was on the phone to important people, GoneAgain marked the end of his swine flu by blowing out birthday candles on the cake. Dini found the bestest book for her Lunar Tick duties to tick of runners each full moon.

First lunar run on 07/07/09 starts from Ottos Grotto in Ulverstone at 7pm.
No charge for this run but there will be a wigged waffle to waise fund for badges etc.
Bring $$$ for counter attack at local pub after walk/run. Oh and a torch just incase the moon is not full and bright (like me on a Saturday night). (He means clouded over... ed.)

Do things go crazy when the moon is full???

Q: For years I've heard cops and emergency room nurses say things really get crazy out there when the moon is full. Is there anything to this? I mean, I've never bought into astrology, because it seems like the stars are too far away to have any effect on us. But the moon is another story--look at the tides.

A: You're not the first person to wonder about this. There have been lots of studies over the years, some of which have purported to show that there really is such a thing as a "lunar effect." For example, one study claimed that an unusual number of traffic accidents occurred during the evenings right around the full and new moons. Later researchers showed that during the time period studied, a disproportionate number of full and new moons fell on weekends, when traffic accidents are always higher.

When we spoke on Monday night we , were looking at starting a Lunar Moon hash club – you were nominated , to construct a new web page using , Me , Trakka anf Sir GA as contacts . We were going to set the runs on the full moon from a pub . Trakka was doing the first , I the second and F*ck Nose the third .

Can you arrange all of this , during your busy press conferences , tv interviews and autograph sessions and group sex romp sessions with all those screaming ladies , who just want to be rogered by a knight – sorry rogered on any night .
